Where DoAny is different
When a request would change the core product, Cofounder should “prepare the handoff rather than take ownership of the product build” (its docs). If you can’t code, someone still has to turn that handoff into an app. DoAny builds it on its own hosted backend: sign-up and login (including “Continue with Google”), a database with access rules, file uploads, backend functions and Stripe checkout, with hosting included.
On DoAny Free, the first version publishes to yourname.doany.site the same day, and once you go live with Stripe it takes real card payments at 0% to DoAny. Cofounder has no free plan. Its 7-day trial lists three items, and outbound email, social post publishing and multiple agents appear only on the $120 Pro card (pricing).
DoAny covers every company you start on one credit balance, on Free or Pro. On Cofounder, “Each organization requires its own subscription” (onboarding docs). If each is billed at Pro’s $120, three ideas cost $4,320 a year against $0 on DoAny Free, where all three share 5 credits a day (up to 30 a month); Pro adds more credits.
DoAny’s credits stop hard: at zero, AI work pauses, nothing is charged, and hosting uses no credits, so the site stays live. Cofounder publishes no usage allowance for $120, bills extra usage after the month, and its listed starting price went from $20 with usage included on July 8, 2026 to $120 by September 2. The docs still mention remaining credits and balance alerts.
Cofounder’s edge
If you already have a product and a codebase, several of these matter more than price.
Cofounder is “built for people who can build their core product elsewhere,” especially B2B founders with their own codebase (docs). It reads your repository and Linear issues and hands work to coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code or Devin (integrations). DoAny works the other way round: Annie builds and hosts the product.
Its integrations page names about fifty services, including Slack, Gmail, Notion, Attio, PostHog, Google Search Console, Intercom, Figma, Sentry and Ramp, plus MCP toolkits (a standard for plugging AI agents into other apps) and custom MCP servers. DoAny has no big connector marketplace; Annie reaches other services by writing a backend function with your API key.
Each agent can get an inbox on your domain. Warmup has a “21 day minimum,” with 28 days recommended, can’t be canceled early to start outreach sooner, and works only on a domain bought through Cofounder, per the inbox docs. Warmup protects deliverability, and it also delays your first cold email by three to four weeks.
The Domains page searches, buys, imports and transfers in domains and edits DNS. A guided flow forms a US LLC through Ramp; the roadmap docs warn it “can involve filing costs.” DoAny doesn’t sell domains: on Pro you connect one you already own.
You can add custom agents with their own tools and schedules, and share files and scripts through a Library every agent can read. DoAny is one agent, Annie, directed by chat.
The company behind Cofounder announced an $8.7 million seed round led by Union Square Ventures on December 8, 2025.
Three more limits matter in this matchup. DoAny has no drag-and-drop editor: you edit by telling Annie what to change. DoAny builds web apps, not native iOS or Android apps; Cofounder’s build guide says it “currently supports web applications” too. And the checkout on the sites DoAny builds is Stripe only, with no coupons, free trials or sales-tax handling at the moment.

Cofounder’s own pages still disagree. The students page offers Pro at $20 a month with usage included, and the app sign-in page still promises to “Design, build, and deploy products,” echoing the May 3 launch post (“idea to live product”). Treat the docs and the dated pricing page as the current terms, check the date on any price a review quotes, ours included, and get the scope confirmed in writing before you pay.
Before you subscribe
Usage beyond the plan is billed later. Above your usage limits you “will pay the applicable additional Fees at then-current applicable rates,” and “Usage-based charges are billed in arrears,” per Cofounder’s Cofounder terms. The pricing page never says how much usage $120 covers. DoAny works the other way: at zero credits, work pauses and nothing is charged.
You carry the risk of agent actions. Agent actions include “executing financial transactions,” and you assume the risk “whether or not you have reviewed or approved such actions.” If you connect repositories, merges and deploys “may occur without prior human review.” The same clause adds that you “may reduce risk by disabling certain automated Agent Actions.”
One subscription per company. “Each organization requires its own subscription,” say the onboarding docs, without a price for the second one.
Leaving is allowed, and discouraged. Pro users can claim the GitHub, Supabase and Vercel projects, but the pricing FAQ adds “We do not recommend it.” Users “are not invited into Supabase yet” (managed services). After the account ends, you get 30 days to export, then deletion within 30 days. Cofounder 1 went into a planned sunset on April 29, 2026, with access kept for exports.
Renewal, refunds and support. Plans renew unless you give written notice at least 7 days before the term ends, there are “no refunds for previously paid Service,” and late payments carry 1.5% a month. Cofounder is “not obligated to provide any maintenance, technical or other support,” and disputes go to individual arbitration in New York.
Checkout and approvals
Both keep your money in your own Stripe account and list no fee of their own. The difference is who builds the checkout, and which actions wait for you.
An org admin adds the Stripe test and live publishable and secret keys. Cofounder then handles pricing analysis, revenue reporting and checkout copy, and prepares a brief for “checkout, subscriptions, or webhooks,” while the billing code stays in your own repository, per the payments docs. Its build guide quotes Stripe’s “2.9% + 30¢ per transaction.”
When you go live, customers pay through direct charges on your own Stripe account, a Stripe Express account DoAny opens for your business. You are the merchant, and checkout shows your business name. DoAny never holds your revenue, and you set up no API keys or webhooks. Stripe’s own fees apply on both (2.9% + 30¢ per US card charge).
A deploy request queues an approval card with Approve and Reject, and production needs a separate Publish (deploy docs). Marketing drafts wait for review “before publishing or sending anything externally” (marketing docs), and the homepage promises “nothing ships without your approval.” The Cofounder terms are looser, as the fine print above shows.
Annie shows an approval card before turning on payments, a paid video render, a new recurring task, connecting an outside account, saving an automation or adding code packages. The work waits, marked as needing you, until you press a button. DoAny has no ad account and no purchasing tool, so spending can’t exceed the credits you bought.
Ask Annie for checkout. The approval card offers “Set up payments” and “Not now,” and nothing is wired until you choose. On Cofounder, an org admin pastes Stripe keys first.
The editor preview runs in test mode, so you pay with Stripe’s test cards before Stripe sees your details (payments setup guide). Cofounder hands the checkout code to your own engineers to test.
Press Go live in the Payments panel, pick your country and complete Stripe’s verification. You can sell on the Free plan, so no $120 subscription stands between you and a first sale. The selling online chapter has the full steps.
Switching

A product in your own repository is already yours. For the repositories Cofounder manages, an org admin can send your GitHub account collaborator invites from Settings, then Advanced, per the GitHub docs.
Files in the Library download from each file’s menu when a download link is available. Users aren’t invited into the managed Supabase project, so ask Cofounder how to export that data before you cancel.
Hand Annie the code and records. DoAny imports your existing code and database records; you don’t start over. Customers sign in again or reset their passwords. Check the preview, then run a test purchase with a Stripe test card.
If the domain uses Cofounder’s managed nameservers, its owner edits DNS records on Cofounder’s Domains page. Connect the domain in DoAny’s Domains panel on Pro: DoAny shows the DNS records, verifies them and issues HTTPS. Records proxied through Cloudflare (the orange cloud) aren’t supported.
Checkout on a DoAny site can’t take over an existing Stripe account yet. Going live opens a new Stripe Express account for your DoAny business, so plan how existing subscribers move before you switch checkout.
Send written notice at least 7 days before your term ends, per Cofounder’s Cofounder terms. Paid time isn’t refunded, and after the account ends you have 30 days to export before deletion.
Common questions
Not at the entry prices. Cofounder Pro is $120 a month with no free plan, only a 7-day trial. DoAny Free is $0 and can take real card payments; DoAny Pro starts at $25 a month. A year is $1,440 on Cofounder against $0 or $300 on DoAny. Cofounder is cheaper than DoAny Pro’s larger sizes (from $200 a month), but it doesn’t publish what $120 includes, and extra usage is billed in arrears (charged after the month).
Not according to its docs, which say “Cofounder is not your core product builder.” It builds landing pages and marketing sites and runs the work around your product; the app, its database, login and hosting stay with your coding agent, tools or engineers. Its May 3, 2026 launch post promised “idea to live product,” so confirm the scope in writing before you pay. DoAny builds and hosts the web app itself: customer accounts, a database, backend functions and Stripe checkout.
Neither lists one. Cofounder’s Terms make you the merchant of record and say Cofounder “does not receive, hold, or transmit Customer funds”; its pricing page and docs list no fee on your sales. DoAny takes 0% of your sales on every plan, Free included, and its standard Terms rule out a revenue share. Stripe’s own fees apply on both: 2.9% + 30¢ per successful domestic card charge in the US.
Cofounder’s pricing page doesn’t say how much usage $120 includes. Its Terms charge usage above your limits at “then-current applicable rates” and bill it after the month, and nothing public says whether agents pause at zero. On DoAny, credits stop hard: when they run out, DoAny pauses AI work and tells you, with no overage, no automatic recharge and no card charged. Hosting uses no credits, so your site stays live.
