Free Stripe fee calculator
Use the Stripe fee calculator to see the fee on a payment, or what to charge to keep a set amount, at the standard rates for your Stripe account’s country, re-checked against Stripe every week.
- Free to use
- No account needed
Use it from an AI browser
This page has site tools: actions an AI agent can call directly, with no plugin or API key. The ChatGPT desktop app’s browser can use them where site tools are available, and so can Chrome with WebMCP turned on. The agent works on this page, with the same steps and limits as its buttons, so you can check the result before you use it.
Open doany.ai/tools/stripe-fee-calculator and tell me what to charge so my UK Stripe account receives £850 after fees on each of 3 deposit payments, paid with business cards from the UK, and how the fee would change for a card from Germany.
Site tools work only while this page is open. They never send messages, invoices or payments for you.
Stripe fees by country
Your Stripe account’s country sets the price list; where the card was issued then decides between the domestic and international rate. Every rate is read from Stripe’s own page for that country and re-checked each week. Choose a country for its own page, with worked examples and the calculator set to it. Stripe charges the same rates in 19 euro-area countries, so they also share one page: Stripe fees in the euro area.

Use the Stripe fee calculator to understand payment costs
Use the Stripe fee calculator to see the fee and what you receive from one payment, work back from the amount you want to keep, or total several equal payments while counting the fixed fee on each one.
Match your Stripe account, the payment method and the card
In the Stripe fee calculator, choose your “Stripe account country” first: it sets the currency and the rates, and it is where your Stripe account is registered, not where your customer is. Then pick the “Payment method”. For a card, say where it was issued and tick a business card, another currency or a card typed in by hand where those apply. For a negotiated rate, choose “I know my rates”.
Decide whether you know the charge or what you want to keep
Under “What do you want to work out?”, choose “What I’ll receive” to check a price you already charge, or “What to charge” to work back from the amount you want to keep. The Stripe fee calculator finds the smallest charge that leaves you at least that amount after the fee.
Count payments separately from the amount
Enter the amount for one payment in the Stripe fee calculator. “Number of payments” multiplies that payment’s rounded result. Each payment gets its own fixed fee, minimum fee and cap. For payments with different amounts or methods, calculate each group separately.
Use the right calculation for each sale
Keep the selling price, processing cost and bank payout distinct. The Stripe fee calculator does not check your Stripe balance.
A service job paid in one transaction
What to change
In the Stripe fee calculator, choose “What I’ll receive”, enter what the customer pays for the job and set “Number of payments” to 1. Check the fee and what you receive before deciding whether the price covers your job costs. With a US account, “Use these fees in service pricing”, under the result, carries the rates into service pricing.
Before you use it
Service pricing works in US dollars, with one payment for the whole job.
Many sales of the same digital product
What to change
Enter one product’s price and the number of sales in “Number of payments”. The fixed fee repeats for every payment, so the result differs from processing the same combined revenue as one payment.
Before you use it
The Stripe fee calculator does not include a creator platform’s commission automatically.
A shop with customers in other countries
What to change
In the Stripe fee calculator, choose where most cards come from, and tick “Customer pays in another currency” when you charge in their currency. Compare the result with a card from your own country: the difference is what selling abroad costs per payment.
Before you use it
The Stripe fee calculator prices a card by where it was issued, not where the customer lives.
An account with a negotiated rate
What to change
In “Payment method”, choose “I know my rates”. It starts from your country’s standard card rate: change the “Fee percentage”, “Fixed fee per payment”, an optional “Fee cap per payment” and the “Smallest payment allowed”, in your currency. Add a “Name for these rates” to recognize them in a saved draft.
Before you use it
Custom rates are your assumptions, not pricing checked by the Stripe fee calculator.
Check the fee assumptions before setting a price
- Open “How these rates were checked” in the Stripe fee calculator and compare the source and date with your account’s pricing.
- Confirm the account country is where your Stripe account is registered, and the card origin matches your customers’ cards.
- Confirm the amount is for one payment and “Number of payments” counts payments of the same size.
- Use whole yen for JPY and two decimals for other currencies.
- Account separately for disputes, platform and other product charges, and for tax where Stripe’s fees exclude it, as in Mexico and Japan.
Calculate forward or work backward
With a US Stripe account and a US card, a $100 payment at 2.9% plus 30¢ has a $3.20 fee, so you receive $96.80. To receive $500, the smallest charge under the same rounded fee is $515.24.
Match the rate to your account and the card
The Stripe fee calculator reads every rate from that country’s own Stripe pricing page, and each result names the page and the day its rates were last checked against it; every page is re-checked each week. The card is priced by where it was issued, with business cards, currency conversion and the country’s own payment methods where Stripe prices them apart. Negotiated contracts and fees outside these need “I know my rates”.
Useful answers
How do I calculate Stripe fees on a payment?
Choose your “Stripe account country” and the “Payment method”, pick “What I’ll receive” and enter what your customer pays for one payment. The Stripe fee calculator rounds the percentage fee to the currency’s smallest unit, adds the fixed fee and applies any minimum fee or cap. With a US account and a US card, at 2.9% plus 30¢, a $100 payment has a $3.20 fee and you receive $96.80. The result lists each part of the fee and the share of the payment it takes.
How much is the Stripe fee on a $1,000 payment, or on many smaller ones?
With a US account and a US card at 2.9% plus 30¢, one $1,000 payment has a $29.30 fee and you receive $970.70. The rate depends on your account’s country, where the card is from and the payment method, so choose those first. Each payment pays its own fixed fee: ten separate $100 payments cost $32 in fees. Enter the amount of one payment and the count in “Number of payments”; the Stripe fee calculator rounds and caps each payment before adding them up. For payments of different sizes or methods, calculate each group separately.
How much must I charge to receive $500 after Stripe processing fees?
With a US account and a US card, a $515.24 charge leaves you $500.00 after the $15.24 fee. Choose “What to charge” to check your own amount, country and card. The Stripe fee calculator finds the smallest charge whose rounded fee leaves you at least that amount; payment minimums and currency rounding can leave you slightly more.
Which countries does the Stripe fee calculator cover?
The Stripe fee calculator covers the 45 countries where Stripe publishes standard pricing, from the US, Canada and the UK to the euro countries, Australia, Japan and Singapore, each with Stripe’s card rates for that country, in its currency, and its local payment methods where Stripe lists them. India is included, though Stripe’s standard pricing there is by invitation only. The country is where your Stripe account is registered, not where your customer is. For another country, choose “Another country” and enter your own rates. Amounts stay in the currency shown and are never converted, and yen use whole numbers.
Why does this Stripe fee calculator show different fees from other calculators?
Stripe changes its prices from time to time, and a calculator is only as current as the last time someone checked it. Australia’s domestic card rate, for example, fell to 1.65% plus A$0.30 on October 1, 2026. When we compared seven other Stripe fee calculators on October 6, 2026, five showed at least one outdated or wrong rate: 1.4% instead of 1.5% for standard UK cards, 3.25% instead of 3.15% for international cards in the UK and Europe, Australia at 1.70% or 1.75%, or the US international and conversion surcharges applied to every country. The Stripe fee calculator reads each rate from that country’s Stripe pricing page, shows the day it was last checked with a link to the page, and re-checks every page each week, so you can confirm any number the Stripe fee calculator shows.
How do Stripe fees differ for UK, European and business cards?
Stripe prices a card by where it was issued. A UK account pays 1.5% + 20p for UK cards, 2.5% + 20p for cards from the European Economic Area and 3.15% + 20p for cards from elsewhere. An account in an EU country pays 1.5% plus its fixed fee, such as €0.25, for any EEA card, its own country’s included, 2.5% for UK cards and 3.15% for the rest (3.25% in Poland). Stripe counts commercial, corporate and business cards issued by Visa, Mastercard and Cartes Bancaires as premium: 2.8% for UK cards on a UK account and for EEA cards on an EU account (1.9% in Poland), so a £500 UK payment pays £14.20 instead of £7.70. In the Stripe fee calculator, answer “Where is the card from?” and tick “Business or corporate card” where it is offered.
What does Stripe add for international cards, currency conversion and typed-in cards?
Currency conversion adds 2% in most countries and 1% in the US and the United Arab Emirates; Stripe’s Brazil page lists no conversion fee. Stripe’s pages for some countries word the international card rate as a surcharge on the domestic one: +1.5% in the US, +0.8% in Canada, +0.5% in Mexico, Singapore and Hong Kong, +1% in Malaysia and the UAE, and +2% in Brazil. Cards typed in by hand add 0.5% in the US and Canada. Stripe’s Japan pricing has one 3.6% rate for every card. The Stripe fee calculator shows each surcharge on its own line, so a $100 US payment by an international card, converted, costs $5.70.
Do Stripe fees in Australia include GST?
Yes. Stripe’s Australian pricing page says its fees include GST: 1.65% + A$0.30 for Australian cards, 3.5% + A$0.30 for international cards, and 1% + A$0.30, capped at A$3.50, for PayTo and BECS Direct Debit. Stripe lowers the international card rate to 2.8% + A$0.30 from April 1, 2027. Mexico is the other way round: Stripe’s fees there exclude IVA, so add it where it applies, and in Japan Stripe adds Japanese Consumption Tax on top of its fees. The Stripe fee calculator notes these beside the result.
Are Stripe card fees and bank debit fees the same?
No. In the US, cards cost 2.9% + 30¢ and ACH Direct Debit 0.8%, capped at $5 per payment. Other countries have their own methods: Bacs Direct Debit in the UK costs 1% with a 20p minimum and a £4 cap, and SEPA Direct Debit costs €0.35 in euro countries. Each method in the Stripe fee calculator shows its rate and the fee on your amount, so you can compare them. It does not confirm eligibility, settlement timing or other method-specific charges.
Does Stripe return its processing fees when I refund a customer?
Stripe’s published pricing says original payment-processing, Connect and currency-conversion fees are not returned on refunds. Additional fees for issuing a refund depend on the payment method and your pricing agreement. The Stripe fee calculator works out successful payments, not refunds, so review your account’s pricing and refund costs separately.
Is what I receive in the calculator the same as my Stripe bank payout?
No. What you receive here is the charge minus the selected processing fee. A bank payout draws from your available Stripe balance and follows your payout schedule; refunds, disputes, other charges and account activity can change the amount available. The Stripe fee calculator does not connect to Stripe or predict payout dates, bank arrival or settlement.
Does this include all Stripe, invoice, subscription and platform fees?
No. The result includes the rate for the country, card and options you choose, with any fixed fee, minimum fee or cap. Review Billing, Invoicing, platform commissions, payout, dispute and tax charges separately where they apply. The Stripe fee calculator shows the source and checked date of every standard rate; compare them with your account’s current pricing rather than treating what you receive here as profit.
Is this Stripe fee calculator free, and can I use its rates in a service estimate?
The Stripe fee calculator is free to use, copy, share and download without an account, and calculations do not call AI or connect to Stripe. “Copy link” shares the country, card options, currency and amount; rates you enter yourself stay out of the link. “Use these fees in service pricing”, under the result, carries a US account’s rates into service pricing, which works in US dollars, and “More options” includes a JSON download. Service pricing counts one payment per job; the number of payments and other currencies are not transferred. From pricing, carry the resulting selling price into an estimate.
