From February 1, 2027, Shorts Creator Pool and Premium revenue need at least 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days, checked each month. You entered 450,000 for the last 90 days, so a year without Shorts is shown too.

Starting RPMs are placeholders to replace, not averages. RPM changes with your audience, topic, viewer country, season and advertiser demand. YouTube Studio shows yours under Analytics, then Revenue.

Views for a $1,000.00 month

166,667 views at $6.00 RPM, 500,000 views at $2.00 RPM. Long-form views only; Shorts and other income are not counted.

Counting Shorts and other income: 164,667 long-form views at the high RPMs ($988.00 left after $12.00); 497,750 long-form views at the low RPMs ($995.50 left after $4.50).

How this is worked out

Long-form: 20,000 views ÷ 1,000 × $2.00 to $6.00 RPM = $40.00 to $120.00. Shorts: 150,000 views ÷ 1,000 × $0.03 to $0.08 RPM = $4.50 to $12.00. With $0.00 other income, that is $44.50 to $132.00 a month. A year is 12 of those months, and an average day is that year ÷ 365. RPM is already after YouTube’s share, so nothing else is deducted.

YouTube Partner Program check

Thresholds checked October 4, 2026 on the YouTube Help pages linked above. Meeting an entry threshold lets you apply; YouTube still reviews every channel, and the expanded program is only in some countries. The Shorts Creator Pool row is a monthly earning condition for partners, not an entry threshold.

The higher entry thresholds from February 1, 2027 apply to new applicants; YouTube says channels already in the program keep their status under that change. Partners still need to accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by January 31, 2027, or they stop earning from the features those terms cover from February 1, 2027. From that date YouTube also has new channel-activity requirements: a partner channel that drops below them gets 90 days to reach 1,000 qualified watch hours in the past 365 days or 1 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days to stay in the program.

Plan channel income with the YouTube money calculator

The YouTube money calculator turns your own views and RPM into a monthly and yearly range. It does not read your channel; every number comes from you or from your YouTube Analytics.

  1. Enter views from a typical month

Add long-form views and Shorts engaged views to the YouTube money calculator separately, because they earn at different rates. Use a recent month, or an average of three, so one unusual video does not set the plan.

  2. Set a low and a high RPM

Copy RPM from YouTube Studio under Analytics, then Revenue, or enter a cautious and a hopeful guess if you are not monetized yet. The YouTube money calculator multiplies views ÷ 1,000 by each RPM and does not take YouTube’s share out a second time.

  3. Add other income and a goal

Enter sponsorship, merch or affiliate income that sits outside RPM, then a monthly goal. The YouTube money calculator shows the long-form views that goal needs at both RPMs, alone and after your Shorts and other income, and compares your channel numbers with the Partner Program thresholds.

Use it for the channel you have

The YouTube money calculator works the same way for every channel. What changes is which views and RPM you can trust.

  • A long-form channel close to joining

    What to change

Enter subscribers, watch hours and recent uploads in the check section of the YouTube money calculator, plus a planning RPM range. Compare the threshold for applying by January 31, 2027 with the higher one for applying from February 1, 2027.

    Before you use it

Meeting an entry threshold lets you apply. YouTube still reviews the channel against its monetization policies.

  • A Shorts-first channel

    What to change

Put most views in the Shorts field with a Shorts RPM from your own Analytics, kept apart from long-form RPM. Add your Shorts views from the last 90 days; below 10 million, the YouTube money calculator also shows a year without Shorts.

    Before you use it

From February 1, 2027, a month’s Shorts Creator Pool share needs 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.

  • A partner planning a sponsorship

    What to change

Keep RPM for YouTube revenue and add the agreed sponsor fee to the YouTube money calculator as other monthly income, spread over the months it covers.

    Before you use it

Memberships, Super Chat and Premium are already in RPM, and YouTube does not list YouTube Creator Partnerships deals as outside RPM, so do not enter them as other income.

Before you rely on a YouTube money calculator estimate

  • Views and RPM come from the same period and the same format.
  • The low RPM reflects a slow month, not your best video.
  • Other income is money outside RPM that you have agreed or earned.
  • The thresholds you compared were read on October 4, 2026 and can change.
  • Taxes, fees and withholding are not deducted.

RPM is already after YouTube’s share

YouTube defines RPM as your revenue per 1,000 views after its revenue share, counting ads, memberships, Premium, Super Chat and Super Stickers. It includes views that showed no ad, so it is lower than CPM. The YouTube money calculator uses RPM as entered and deducts nothing else.

Shorts are paid from a pool

Shorts Feed ad revenue is pooled and allocated by each monetizing creator’s share of engaged views; creators keep 45% of their allocation. That is why Shorts get their own rate here, and why your revenue report splits earnings by videos, Shorts and live streams.

Thresholds are dated, not live

The Partner Program check compares your entries with YouTube Help as read on October 4, 2026, including the new-applicant thresholds announced for February 1, 2027. Partners must accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by January 31, 2027, or they stop earning from the features those terms cover on February 1, 2027. The YouTube money calculator does not connect to your channel, so it cannot confirm eligibility or payment.

Questions about this tool

How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views?

There is no fixed rate. RPM is what you earned per 1,000 views after YouTube’s share, and it moves with viewer location, season, ad formats, views without ads and the revenue features you use. In the YouTube money calculator, enter your own low and high RPM rather than someone else’s figure.

What is the difference between RPM and CPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions before YouTube’s revenue share. RPM is your total revenue per 1,000 views after the share, including views without ads. Use RPM in the YouTube money calculator; multiplying views by CPM overstates income.

Do Shorts and long-form videos earn the same?

No. Long-form videos earn from watch page ads, while Shorts earn from a pooled Shorts Feed ad revenue share in which creators keep 45% of their allocation. Enter separate views and RPM for each, so a low Shorts rate does not drag down your long-form estimate.

How many subscribers do I need to make money on YouTube?

As read on October 4, 2026, ad revenue sharing needs 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified watch hours in 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. Where the expanded program is available, fan funding and Shopping start at 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days. From February 1, 2027, new applicants for ad revenue still need 1,000 subscribers, plus 8,000 watch hours in 365 days or 20 million Shorts views in 90 days.

Why is my actual payout different from the estimate?

Estimated revenue in Analytics is adjusted for invalid traffic and copyright claims, and finalized earnings appear in AdSense for YouTube, where tax withholding can apply. Views and RPM also change month to month. The YouTube money calculator shows a planning range, not a payment.

Where do I find my RPM?

Sign in to YouTube Studio, select Analytics, then Revenue. The content performance report includes RPM. Look at a few recent months and use the slowest and the strongest as your low and high RPM.

Can I include sponsorships, memberships and merch?

Add sponsorships, brand deals, merch or affiliate income from outside YouTube as other monthly income; it counts in the monthly and yearly totals. Leave out channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Premium revenue, which YouTube already counts in RPM. YouTube lists brand deals and sponsorships as outside RPM except YouTube Creator Partnerships, so leave those deals out too.

Does the estimate include taxes?

No. The YouTube money calculator shows income before tax, withholding or fees. AdSense for YouTube shows any taxes withheld from finalized earnings. Ask a tax professional how creator income is taxed where you live.
