Where DoAny is different
Keeping your site, database, files and functions online never uses DoAny credits, on any plan. Emergent bills 50 credits a month for each deployed app, so on Standard’s 100 credits one live app takes half the allowance and two take all of it.
At zero credits, Annie’s work pauses and DoAny tells you. The site stays live and customers can still pay, because hosting and payments don’t use credits. Nothing recharges and no card is charged. Emergent offers Auto-Recharge, and its Terms allow extra charges above your plan’s limits.
DoAny Free researches your idea and market, builds the first version and publishes it to your own doany.site address the same day, then emails you that it’s live. Press Go live, finish Stripe’s verification, and the same Free plan takes real card payments. You get 5 credits a day, up to 30 a month, with no card. Emergent’s Free plan can’t deploy, so selling there starts at Standard’s $20 a month.
DoAny does not train AI models on your data. It imports your existing code and database records, so switching doesn’t mean starting from scratch. You can see every file in the Code view and every record in the Data view, export code and data anytime and sync your code to GitHub. On Emergent, one guide routes production-data exports through support, which can take up to 24 hours.
DoAny researches the market before it builds. After launch, Annie keeps working: she posts every day, finds customers and follows up, runs your CRM and answers customers around the clock. Turning on payments, paid video renders, new recurring jobs and account connections wait for you to press a button on an approval card.
Emergent ships an agent builder and Wingman (April 2026), an agent inside WhatsApp, Telegram and iMessage that schedules meetings, runs social media and sales outreach, drafts content and manages your inbox, working in the background. Its CEO said the company is “slowly expanding into becoming an operating system for small businesses”; more background agents, for cash-flow analysis, scheduling and social media, were still in testing on September 22.
Emergent’s advantages
If any of these is a must-have, pick Emergent.
The Mobile Agent builds Expo (React Native) apps on paid plans, and a one-click conversion turns a deployed web app into a mobile app in about 3 to 5 minutes, sharing the same backend, database and login. DoAny does not build native mobile apps.
Emergent top-ups cost $0.20 a credit, or $0.167 in the 3,000 and 6,000 packs, and never expire. DoAny top-ups cost $0.30 a credit ($15 per 50) and last 12 months. Emergent also offers annual billing, saving $36 a year on Standard or $396 on Pro; DoAny bills monthly only.
From $20 a month you can push, pull and branch on GitHub, and even at zero credits you can edit files by hand. Pro adds more memory for long chats, system prompt editing and custom agents. DoAny’s Code view is read-only: you change the product by telling Annie, and there is no visual editor.
Emergent’s Integration Agent claims 100+ services, with guides for Stripe, Razorpay, Supabase, Twilio, Resend, SendGrid, Slack, Google Suite, Airtable, Calendly and ElevenLabs, plus MCP support. DoAny has no connector marketplace: Annie reaches other services by writing a backend function with your API key, and the checkout on the sites DoAny builds is Stripe only.
Rollback is free, and a health check keeps a broken build from going live. In DoAny, changes land on a private preview until you press Publish, a failed build never replaces the working site, and every change is saved as a numbered version, but there is no one-click rollback.
Emergent raised $130 million in July 2026 at a $1.5 billion valuation and reports a $120 million annualized revenue run rate. Its Business and Enterprise plans add SSO, role-based access, audit logs and deployment in your own cloud. DoAny has no SSO.
Worked example
Arithmetic on published prices with 100 building credits a month: one live app in the table, two in the first card below. DoAny’s Free plan can sell too, but its 30 credits a month fall short of 100, so the table uses Pro. Emergent figures come from its pricing page and Plans and Credits. The two credits buy different work, so holding them equal isolates the cost of staying online; Stripe fees are the same on both and left out.

A year with two live apps. Emergent Standard’s 100 credits all go to hosting (2 × 50), so building needs a 100-credit top-up: $20 + $20 = $40 a month ($444 a year billed annually). Companies are unlimited on every plan, so a second one and its site add nothing to DoAny Pro’s $25 a month.
Month one, selling a real offer. DoAny Free publishes your first version to yourname.doany.site with no card and takes real card payments once you press Go live. Emergent Free can’t deploy and is for personal, non-commercial use, so a live test starts at Standard’s $20. Kept up for a year with one live app: $0 × 12 = $0 on DoAny Free against $20 × 12 = $240 on Emergent Standard ($17 × 12 = $204 billed annually).
Top-up price per credit, Emergent against DoAny. If you often build past your plan, Emergent’s cheaper top-ups, which never expire, narrow the gap.
One Emergent page, Platform Documentation, calls the 50 credits a one-time charge. If that page is right, Emergent Standard is cheaper than DoAny Pro with one or two live apps. We budget for the monthly figure because Emergent’s other pages say monthly (see the FAQ). Every DoAny Pro size is on the pricing page.

Failed output still costs credits. Section 4.6 of the Emergent Terms charges credits for the effort used “regardless of the outcome”, including output that is wrong or must be regenerated, and consumed credits aren’t refunded.
The training documents disagree. Section 6.2 allows training on your code by default, and section 3.5 grants a perpetual, royalty-free license to your content for business purposes. The Privacy Notice says prompts and code don’t train general-purpose models without permission, and the help FAQ says code isn’t used for AI training. If it matters to you, email privacy@emergent.sh, the Privacy Notice’s contact address, to opt out; it applies from then on.
Production keeps old secrets. A redeploy never overwrites an existing production secret. Swap a Stripe test key for a live key in your .env alone and production keeps the old one; change it in the Deployment pane.
Support won’t debug your app. Section 4.4 excludes application debugging, and the FAQ quotes email replies in 24 to 48 hours. Refunds are at Emergent’s discretion, and the refund contact in the live Terms is still a template placeholder.
On DoAny, nothing charges beyond the subscription and the top-ups you chose to buy. The running it solo chapter covers the day-to-day after launch.
What you’ll see in DoAny
Neither product takes a cut, so the difference is the work between “add checkout” and your first real sale. Everything before Go live happens before you give Stripe any details; the payments guide has the full walkthrough.
Tell Annie what you sell. Before she adds payments, an approval card appears with “Set up payments” and “Not now”. Typing “yes” in chat doesn’t count; nothing changes until you press the button.
The preview takes Stripe test cards straight away, with no Stripe account yet. The published site refuses payments until you go live, so no customer can pay before you’re open.
In the Payments panel, choose Go live, pick your country and complete Stripe’s own verification. Go live works on the $0 Free plan too, so you don’t need Pro to sell. Sole traders can sell. Live payments work for businesses in 42 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore and every EU country.
Payments are direct charges on a Stripe Express account in your business’s name, and checkout shows that name. In new apps, customers pay on your own page, and they can buy without creating an account, for one-off purchases or weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions.
Stripe pays out to your bank on its normal schedule; DoAny adds no hold or minimum. The Payments panel shows orders and payouts and opens your Stripe Express dashboard for refunds and disputes. Taking payments uses no credits.
On Emergent, you create the Stripe account, paste the publishable and secret keys into the chat, and put the live key in through the Deployment pane, because a redeploy keeps existing production secrets. Razorpay is also supported.
At the moment the checkout on the sites DoAny builds is Stripe only, has no coupons or free trials, and doesn’t handle sales tax or VAT for you. That checkout can’t connect an existing Stripe account yet. The selling online chapter covers pricing and first sales.
Moving over
Do it in this order, so customers never hit a dead site and you keep a full copy of your Emergent data. The Emergent-side steps are short here; our exit checklist has the detail.
Keep 50 credits in Emergent until your domain points at DoAny; after you cancel, that balance is what keeps Emergent apps online.
Save the Emergent code to GitHub first (Standard or Pro). Then start on the Free plan and hand Annie that code; DoAny imports it, so you don’t start over. Keep the live Emergent app open to compare the two.
Export your production data first, by either route in the exit checklist, and keep that export as your record. DoAny imports your existing database records, so give Annie the records the new app needs, then check each table in the read-only Data view. Customer logins and passwords don’t move automatically, so plan for customers to sign in again or reset their password.
Swap out AI calls that went through Emergent’s Universal Key. In DoAny, built-in AI features need no model keys, and any other API keys go in an encrypted vault.
Importing your records doesn’t move live subscriptions. Your DoAny app sells through a new Stripe Express account. Checkout on a DoAny site can’t connect your existing Stripe account yet, so DoAny can’t see the subscriptions there. Ask subscribers to re-subscribe through your DoAny checkout, and cancel each old subscription in your existing Stripe dashboard once they do, so nobody is billed twice.
Upgrade to Pro ($25 a month) for your own domain (the Free plan already sells from yourname.doany.site), then connect the domain in the Domains panel; DoAny shows the DNS records to replace Emergent’s, verifies them and issues HTTPS. Cloudflare-proxied records aren’t supported. Cancel Emergent last: deleting the account forfeits unused credits, top-ups included.
If you turned your web app into a mobile app with Emergent’s conversion, the two share one backend that can’t be split later, so moving the web app leaves the mobile app depending on Emergent. For other destinations, see Emergent alternatives.
Questions founders ask
No. DoAny builds responsive web apps that customers can add to their home screen, not App Store or Google Play apps. If you need a store app, Emergent’s Mobile Agent builds iPhone and Android apps (built with Expo) on its paid plans, and its mobile guide has you publish them with publishing tools you run from a terminal, plus an Apple Developer account ($99 a year) for the App Store or a Google Play account ($25 once) for Google Play.
Most of Emergent’s pages say every month. Plans and Credits and the FAQ both list 50 credits a month per deployed app, and the two deployment guides describe a recurring hosting cost. Only Platform Documentation calls it a one-time charge with free redeploys, and that page refers to a Starter tier Emergent no longer sells. Budget for the monthly figure: about $10 per live app at the $0.20 top-up rate. DoAny charges no credits for hosting.
DoAny takes 0% of your sales on every plan, Free included, and its standard Terms rule out equity and revenue share. Emergent publishes no fee on your sales either: its Terms let you sell the apps you build, and its Stripe guide lists only Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢. Stripe’s processing fees apply on both. The difference is setup: on Emergent you paste your own Stripe keys into the chat, while DoAny opens a Stripe Express account for your business and wires checkout without any keys.

A few things move separately. Going live opens a new Stripe account, so existing subscribers re-subscribe through your DoAny checkout; customers sign in again or reset their password; and your API keys go into DoAny’s encrypted vault. A mobile app made with Emergent’s web-to-mobile conversion keeps depending on Emergent’s backend.
On DoAny, Annie’s work pauses and DoAny tells you. Hosting and payments don’t use credits, so the site stays live and customers can still pay. On Emergent, you can still view and hand-edit code, but you cannot generate code, run tests, deploy or use AI debugging until credits refresh or you top up. Auto-Recharge can buy credits for you if you turn it on, and after you cancel, Emergent deployments stay active only while you keep 50 credits.
